Presentation Evening 2015

One bunch of happy Athletes after the perpetual trophies are all handed out. Athletes in photograph have all collected trophies for fastest in age group recorded over the monthly timings also skier skier and most improved prizes handed out.

Well done all athletes at  Telford , keep training keep racing you can obtain your goals.

Thanks to all parents , committee members , Coaches and Slope staff alike , we simply cannot continue without all of your efforts.

Recent BARSC Race held as always at Chillfactor in Manchester.

I think all racers from Telford would agree a tough but enjoyable weekends racing.

We are also in receipt of a message aimed at all our athletes from Anna Turney (British Alpine Racer who races a sit ski and represented Great Britain at the 2010 & 2014 Winter paralympic games)  who visited the CESA race in 2014.

 "Good luck to all the racers, remember , someone has to be the best, so why not you?! Enjoy it. Ski fast and have fun".

Welsh and British Outdoor Championships

Two Championship events, took place at Pontypool this weekend (Welsh on Saturday and British on Sunday).

The weather was great (only a few drops of rain), and even some slightly sunburnt faces from the weekend's sun!  We witnessed some awesome and exciting racing through extremely difficult courses.  Telford members taking part were Charlie (U12s), Lewis (U10s) and Ellie (U14s).

On Sunday, the U12 male category delivered some fantastic skiing, with just over one seconds difference between 4th and 1st position.  Charlie delivered an absolutely stunning first run, but just missed out on a podium by 0.02 of second!!!!!!  Lewis had two really solid runs, and improved his second run by over half a second. Ellie skied well on both days, achieving 3rd at both the Welsh and British, and 3rd overall in the outdoor GB series.

Congratulations to all our members who have taken part in races this year .. well done.  If anyone would like to know more about the different races that are available, please speak to one of your committee members.

British and Anglo-Welsh Indoor Championships 2015

Two championship events took place this weekend at Manchester - the Anglo Welsh on Saturday, followed by the British Championships on Sunday. 

Being the most prestigious events of the summer indoor race calendar, a high number of top-level skiers travelled from Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England to take part.  There was an exceptionally high level of skiing ability demonstrated on very challenging courses on both days.  Telford members taking part were Charlie Deem, Ellie Jackson, Will Evans and Jordan Fellows, with all delivering some brilliant runs.

Team pro-slalom races also took place on Saturday afternoon with proceeds of this additional race being raised for MacMillan Cancer.  As ever, these were exciting to watch and thoroughly enjoyed by skiers and parents alike.

Podiums for:-
Jordan Fellows 3rd U21 Male at Anglo Welsh; 2nd U21 and 3rd overall male at British. 3rd U21 male for the overall indoor GB series.
Ellie Jackson 3rd U14 female British and 3rd U14 female for the overall indoor GB series. 2nd in team pro-slalom event.

All England 2015 Sunderland

Congratulations to both Lewis Parton & Charlie Deem who obtained podium positions in the most prestigous event of the English summer race calender, Well done to both.

In the under 10s male category a stunning performance from Lewis obtained a well deserved 2nd place on the day , However a little bit of luck and a quirk in the rules saw Lewis taking home the first place trophy. An award once held by Jordan Fellows back in 2007.

In the under 12 males another excellent days work was put in by Charlie deem acquiring a 3rd place podium, Final results showed that 1 hundredth of a second separated 2nd & 3rd Place.
