Stoke Fun Race Series

Congratulations to all Telford skiers who participated in the second race of the Stoke fun race series, on Saturday.  The weather was good, the event well run with us all heading home by 2.00pm.  It was great to see both newer and more experienced racers taking part, with all our juniors skiing well throughout the day.  As ever, the head to heads in the afternoon were good fun, with skiers being given the chance to race against others with similar times.  Podiums for Ben (U8 male - 3rd) Charlie (U10 male - 1st):  Ellie (U12 girls - 1st): Tom (U14 male -3rd).  A huge congratulations to Lewis, taking part in his first race away from Telford.  Lewis put in two fantastic runs in the individual event, just missing out on the medals, and won all three of his head to heads in the afternoon.  Well done to all.   Helen

Christian Stevenson U18 Boys 3rd (GBR4)

CESA B team 3rd Overall.

This weekend  clearly introduced us to summer racing for 2014. The suncream & shorts were out sunglasses and hats were on and although Saturday started cloudy when the sunshine broke through  it did it in style.  Telford Racer Chris Stevens competing in the U18 Males class managed a similar feat , putting down two solid runs in the GBR he secured himself a 3rd Overall.

During the Interregional races on Sunday we were treated to wall to wall sunshine & while the sun shone the CESA A & B team made hay with A team finishing 2nd & B team finishing tied 3rd with Wales. Chris did his part along with 6 other racers from the west midlands area team listings below.

Telford Annual Club Championships

Once again the wet weather was not kind to spectators and officials but benefits to the athletes were obvious with the mat well lubricated some very fast times were recorded. Our thanks to all involved this event could not go ahead without input from athletes parents & officials. It was great to see some racers from stoke & Tamworth snow dome also involved. Hope to see you all & more next year.

BIGP 2014

The first two races of the British Indoor Grand Prix series took place 10 and 11 May at Castleford Snow zone.

Our monthly Castleford training sessions provided Telford skiers with slope familiarisation, with all racers performing well, in what was possibly the biggest meet of 2014, to date.

Well done to our rising star, Iona Brickley who achieved a podium position on Sunday, skiing into silver position.

May Timings 2014

Telford Club National 2014 Chill Factore Manchester

Telford Club National (CN) took place on Saturday 26.4.14 – the first indoor CN of the summer series.  Team Telford was represented by Iona Brickley, Charlie Deem, Andrew Webb, Matthew Williams, Elinor Drummond, Charley Fellows, Josh Law, Isabel Drummond, Ellie Jackson, Grace Williams, Charles Humphreys, Christian Stevenson and Jordan Fellows. 

Iona, taking part in her first CN achieved a fantastic 3rd position in the U10 girls.  Charlie Deem followed in her footsteps, achieving 3rd in the U10 boys. 

Charley Fellows had two excellent runs in the strong U12 female category, just being pipped into 4th place, whilst Josh Law, returning after a skiing injury, achieved an admiral 5th position in the U12 male category.  Ellie Jackson, had two very solid runs, skiing into 4th position in the highly contested female age group of U14s.  Grace Williams skied well on her first run, fighting back in her second, to win silver in the U16 females and a top 10 finish across all age groups.  Jordan Fellows delivered two stunning runs, winning his U18 category and achieving 2nd overall male on the day.

Well done to all racers who took part – it was great to see you all skiing so well and enjoying your sport.
